Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 12, 2026

This privacy policy describes how VAST LOGIC LLC ("we", "us") handles information in connection with our websites, including vastlogic.dev and dimmascreen.com, and the apps we sell directly, such as Dimma Screen.

Summary

We collect only what we need to run our websites, sell our apps, and check licenses. We do not sell personal data. We do not show ads, and we do not track you across apps or websites. We share data only with the service providers named in this policy.

Analytics

vastlogic.dev and dimmascreen.com use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors use our sites. Clarity records how you interact with our pages, such as clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement. It turns this into usage statistics, heatmaps, and session replays. It also collects your device and browser type, and the country or region that matches your IP address. We use this information only to improve our sites. We do not use it for advertising.

Clarity does not run on the dimmascreen.com pages that show or activate your license key.

Clarity sets two cookies on our sites, _clck and _clsk, to connect your page views into one visit. It can also set third-party cookies from Microsoft domains, such as MUID, which Microsoft uses across its own sites. For visitors from the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, Clarity does not set these cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser.

Microsoft processes this data under the Microsoft Privacy Statement at https://www.microsoft.com/privacy/privacystatement.

Web fonts

vastlogic.dev and dimmascreen.com load fonts from Google Fonts. When you open these sites, your browser requests the fonts from Google, and Google receives your IP address and browser details. See Google's privacy policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Hosting

Our websites, our download server (dl.vastlogic.dev), and the connection to our license server are served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process technical request data, such as IP addresses, as necessary to deliver the service and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/ for details.

Purchases

When you buy an app directly from us, Dodo Payments processes the payment as the Merchant of Record. Dodo collects your payment details and handles them under its own privacy policy at https://dodopayments.com/legal/privacy-policy. We never receive your full card number.

Dodo sends us the details of each order. These can include your name and email address, your billing address and country, the product, the amount, tax and currency, order and customer IDs, and the type of payment method (for example, the card network and the last four digits). We keep these details together with your license.

We use this information to deliver and manage your license, give support, process refunds and chargebacks, keep accounting records, and prevent fraud.

When a purchase, refund, or chargeback happens, our server sends a short notice to our internal notification service. The notice contains the product, the amount, your email address, and the order ID.

License activation (Dimma Screen)

When you enter a license key, the app sends these items to our license server: the license key, the app identifier, a device hash, the name of your Mac, and the app version.

The device hash is a one-way code that the app calculates from your Mac's hardware ID. The hardware ID itself never leaves your Mac. Each of our apps uses a different calculation, so the same Mac cannot be linked across our apps.

The name of your Mac is the name set in System Settings. We use it to show you which Macs use your license, for example when you reach the activation limit.

Our server stores a hash of your license key (not the key itself), the device hash, the name of your Mac, and the dates of activation and the last renewal. The app version appears only in our server logs.

From time to time, the app renews its license. A renewal sends the license key, the app identifier, and the device hash. When you deactivate a Mac, the app sends the license key and the app identifier.

Free trial (Dimma Screen)

When you first open Dimma Screen, the app registers a trial with our license server. It sends the app identifier and the device hash. If the trial started while your Mac was offline, it also sends the time the trial started on your Mac. Our server stores the device hash and the trial start time, so that reinstalling the app does not restart the trial. The trial does not use your name, your email address, or a license key.

Updates

Apps we sell directly, such as Dimma Screen, check for updates with Sparkle, an open-source update framework. The app downloads the update list and updates from dl.vastlogic.dev. Sparkle's system profiling is turned off, so an update check does not send information about your Mac. Like any web request, it includes your IP address and the app's name and version.

Server logs

Our license server does not log IP addresses. Its logs record the request type, the result, the time, and a few technical details, such as the app version. Logs are rotated by size, and older logs are deleted automatically.

How long we keep data

We keep purchase and license records for as long as your license exists, and after that for as long as tax, accounting, or legal duties require. We keep trial records so that a trial cannot be restarted. Database backups are kept for a limited time and then deleted automatically.

You can ask us to delete your data at privacy@vastlogic.dev. We will delete it or remove the parts that identify you. We may keep the order records that tax and accounting law requires.

Email

If you email us, for example at support@vastlogic.dev or privacy@vastlogic.dev, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address and message content. We use it only to respond to you and do not share it with third parties.

Where data is processed

We are based in the United States, and our servers are in the United States. If you use our products from another country, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, including the EU, the UK, and certain US states, you may have rights over your personal data, such as the right to access, correct, or delete it, or to object to how it is processed. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@vastlogic.dev and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Children's privacy

Our websites and products are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at privacy@vastlogic.dev and we will delete it.

Our other apps

This policy covers the apps we sell directly. Apps from the App Store and other product websites may have their own privacy policies, which are linked from each product.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
